The refrigeration process starts when the compressor compresses the refrigerant gas, raising the pressure and temperature. The heated refrigerant then passes into the condenser, where it loses heat and becomes liquid.

The liquid refrigerant travels via the expansion valve, decreasing pressure and temperature before entering the evaporator. The refrigerant in the evaporator absorbs heat from the flowing water, resulting in cooled water that is delivered to the desired use.
